The Can Crusher Workshop was a crushing experience for the cans but not the 10 young people people who attended. Nothing crushed their enthusiasm!
We got two can crushers working and the other 8 90% of the way. We hope to hold a session that is “open to all” one Scout evening shortly to finish off the crushers and maybe make a few bird boxes for the rear of Eskmouth Scout Hall.
Here are some shots of the going on . . . .
Big smiles all round. Shedder Peter (extreme right in back row) had the honour as the oldest person present to crush the first can!!
It was manic to get the components finished and together. A real tribute to the youngsters for pulling together. There are a couple to be finished off and given to schools shortly.
Thanks to Shedders Tony, Ted and Ray for their great effort to make this happen.
There was a workshop for visiting students from South Korea held at Sleights Scout Hut on Bank Holiday Monday. They made two workbenches from mainly pallet wood. See www.whitbysheds.co.uk
