On Target for Two New Workshops

In fact there are more but for now we focus on one happening on Thursday evening, 13th June at Eskdale School site at 6.15pm and one in the summer.

It is a workshop on archery by Whitby Company of Archers. They are a club that has quite a community focus and we thank them for organising the evening.

There is room for 18 youngsters across the age range. We would welcome a few more in the 12+ age group at present. It is open to any young person in the Whitby region (Staithes to Bay).

There are no apples involved (that’s a joke) and the tutors are all qualified and used to dealing with groups of all ages and backgrounds. They have even catered for sober hen parties!

If you want to come please text or call Janine on 07880 498283 or Graham on 07763 656627. If you are a left-hander, we need to know.

Next, we look forward to the summer break and a challenging workshop being planned over several days for a group of half a dozen “apprentices” of Secondary School age.

The workshop is a little like Work Experience that many will remember before 2012. We want to do a makeover of an internal space that might involve a range of trade skills including kitchen/bathroom/storage refitting.

We would like to know of any community/voluntary premises where such a project would be welcomed. Supervised of course!

Please contact Graham Storer (graham_storer@btinternet or 07763 656627 if you have any suggestions.

Some removal, some repair, some decorating, fitting out!
