Sleights Youth Shed

This is a separate venture to Kidz Making Good though, from a Sleights’ perspective, related . In essence it is a youth club in a place where for many years there has been no weekly place for older children and young people. to meet. It will be at Sleights Scout Hut in Narrowfields.

Compare and contrast the two projects in the diagram below. More information will be added as it develops.

In Sleights, two ventures, one a weekly Youth Shed

Good news that the Sleights Youth Shed project has secured a funding contribution of £1000 from North Yorkshire County Council’s Inspire programme.

NYCC was the first organisation to invest in a North Yorkshire Shed, located in the Sleights area 3 years ago almost to the day. That was through the Stronger Communities programme.

Below is a draft of the front and back of a postcard to promote the Youth Shed to families in Sleights area. It will be part of an information pack that will be available in January 2019.

At present the aim is to get the project known and to invite interest from families (including grandparents!) and individuals. Help is needed, in a way that should be personally rewarding and shared with others. There are helping roles that do not require attendance.
